Interbrand, one of world’s largest branding consultancy, yesterday released their annual report on the ‘Best Retail Brands 2014‘. The report lists the top 50 U.S retail brands and leading stores from around the world. Today, customers want the convenience of online shopping to be carried over into their in-store shopping experience. This report reiterates the same : Macy’s being the biggest gainer in terms of brand value goes on to show that the quicker brands realize their customers’ ever evolving digital shopping behaviour, the better it is for their business.
Most retailers today are adapting to the shift in customer expectations by offering services right from personalized shopping experiences to virtual fitting rooms. Brands that fail to adapt to the changing needs of customers will lose their relevance, like RadioShack and Guess, which are out of the list this year.
