Beacons are taking the world over by a storm. While Year 2014 saw a lot of action in the beacon domain with major brands across various verticals jumping on to the beacon bandwagon, 2015 will be no different. According to a recent Business Insider report, the beacon installed base will see a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 287% and there will be 4.5 million active beacons overall by end of year 2018.
Experts in the beacon field maintain that museums will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of iBeacon technology. In an earlier blog post, we discussed how museums can benefit from using beacons on their premises.
In our upcoming webinar on “How Beacons can add Interactivity to Museums”, Ravi Pratap, CTO & Co-founder of MobStac will discuss how iBeacon technology can fit into a museum’s strategy for long term success. He will also discuss how beacons can be used to gain insights on visitor behaviour and to generate more revenue.
Our co-host for the webinar, Al Juarez, Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Business Development at GeLo will discuss their work in helping museums become more interactive through the use of GeLo Bluetooth Smart beacons. Listen to him talk about factors museums need to keep in mind when choosing beacon hardware. GeLo has worked with the Grand Rapids Public Museum, ArtPrize 2013 and ArtPrize 2014 using iBeacon technology to share additional content with museum visitors and art lovers in the digital age.
Some of the common questions we are trying to answer in this webinar are:
-Why should museums embrace beacons?
-What are the various use cases of beacons in museums?
-What kind of challenges do museums face while implementing beacons?
-Why is it important to consider factors such as beacon hardware, power source, aesthetics etc., while deploying beacons?
We will also talk about some successful beacon implementations in museums. At the end of the webinar, we will share tips and best practices for devising a successful beacon strategy for your museum.
Join us for the webinar on 24th February, 2015.
