[Webinar] Your Guide to Planning a Successful Beacon Pilot
That beacons are taking the world of mobile by storm, is not news anymore. According to a recent ABI Research report titled BLE Tags: The Location of Things (LOT), beacon hardware shipments are predicted to top 400 Million units in 2020, while breaking U.S. $1 Billion in revenue. And while retail with major brands like Macy’s and Lord and Taylor, are probably one of the most popular examples of an industry employing beacons, of late businesses across various verticals have been busy trying to integrate iBeacon technology with their marketing strategy.
One of the major driving factors behind this is the huge demand among brands to leverage customer context to orchestrate brand experiences that engage customers in a more personalized way. However, many brands, even today are unsure about where to begin with or how to integrate beacons with their mobile strategy. And in their haste to catch up to the hype, a number of brands are rushing through and ending up with unsuccessful beacon pilots.
One of the most important things that brands need to take note of here is that, implementing an iBeacon campaign has little to do with deploying beacons and is mostly about rethinking the overall customer experience (guiding passengers through the airport, enabling click and collect orders at retail stores, collecting visitor feedback at events, educating visitors on museum artifacts etc.) they can help shape.
