Over the past few months, we have released a few updates to our platform. Our theme for the first half of 2016, was to enable our customers to run proximity marketing campaigns without ever writing a single line of code (of course, besides the initial SDK setup).
With a set of exciting updates that include new features, improvements and a new beacon kit, we hope to make campaign management easier and SDK integration a breeze.
UI Improvements
In case you didn’t notice, our dashboard UI got a cleanup and is much friendlier to use. Besides making the UI consistent, we also overhauled the Beacon homepage by adding a filter and sort functionality as well as a quick view to see beacon details such as telemetry data, identifiers and last updated time.
Webhook Integration
One consistent feedback that we had been receiving from marketing managers was about their need for integrating Beaconstac campaigns with third-party applications such as Slack and Shopify. The Webhook action inside the ‘Rules’ configuration makes it easy to post real-time information to third-party services.
To use the Webhook action, add an action type “Webhook” to a rule, and specify the HTTP URL that should receive the proximity events from your app. You can add as many URLs as you like by adding multiple actions to the same rule.
Package Managers and Xamarin
Developers often find it hard to track SDK updates and to this end, we have automated the process by having our iOS SDK listed on Cocoapods and Android SDK on Gradle. For iOS class references, check our documentation listed on Cocoadocs.
Xamarin developers looking to build an iOS app can use the component that binds the Beaconstac SDK for iOS so that it may be used in Xamarin.iOS projects to scan for iBeacons and add proximity enabled content delivery and notifications.
Introducing Beaconstac Eddy!
We launched a new product called Beaconstac Eddy for marketers looking to quickly deploy beacons and launch proximity campaigns without building an app. Through a mobile-friendly dashboard, Eddy customers can get started in less than 15 minutes and engage with their visitors on leading mobile browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Opera.
